About WhatWorks

Straight answers for the tech you use.

WhatWorks explains what works with streaming services, TV devices and travel tech: where it holds, why, and the date it was true. We start with VPNs for streaming.

  • Verdict firstEvery page opens with the answer: works, works with conditions, doesn't work, or not clear yet.
  • A clear scopeEach answer names the service, the country and the device it covers, so you can tell whether it fits your setup.
  • Always datedEach fact carries the date it was true. Fast-changing facts are revisited every 30 days, the rest every 90 or 365.

How we build an answer.

The same four steps for every page, whatever the topic.

  1. 1Start from a real questionWhat people actually ask about a service or a device, in their own words.
  2. 2Check the official rulesThe service's terms and help pages, the provider's documentation and the app store listings.
  3. 3Write the verdictThe answer first, then its scope, the reasons and what to do, with the date it was true.
  4. 4Recheck on a scheduleDated facts come up for review automatically, and pages change when the facts do.

WhatWorks Editorial Team

Dated research, checked against sources

The WhatWorks Editorial Team signs every page on this site.

Each answer comes from dated research. The team checks every fact against its source: the service's own terms, the provider's documentation or a named third-party measurement.

When sources disagree or are out of date, the page says so. Commissions never decide a verdict or a position.

Independence

Rankings come from published criteria, never from commissions.

Some links to VPN providers earn us a commission if you buy. It never changes a verdict or a position: rankings follow the criteria printed on each page, such as app support on your device. No company pays to appear or to be placed higher.
